In the early 1990’s the dive industry on Utila was in it’s infancy with few centres and training programs.

Utila Dive Centre (UDC) was set up in 1991 by a group of passionate Diving Instructors who wanted to create a dive training facility which offered amazing dive experiences and educational programs for visitors to Utila.

Utila Dive Centre is now managed by a team of experienced, young, passionate and environmentally aware dive professionals who are actively involved in the daily operations of the dive centre. Our training programs, from beginner through to Master Instructor, are taught to the highest standard possible

It’s been 11 years, yet somehow we never tire of the photo contest here at Scuba Diving magazine. But every now and then, there comes a time for change. Ansel Adams once said, “There are no rules for good photographs, there are only good photographs.” In that spirit, we tweaked our submission categories to recognize photographers adept at conceptual and compact-camera photography. And although the structure might have changed, the heart of our contest has remained the same: viewing the underwater world “Through Your Lens.” We hope you enjoy the show.
